Jessica Chastain Subtly Called Out Bryan Singer On Twitter

The name Bryan Singer might make you think of X-Men movies, or it might make you think of sexual assault accusations, or it might make you think of both X-Men and allegations. But of all the accusations to come out in the past several weeks, Bryan Singer’s name has been noticeably absent. Well, Jessica Chastain recently took it upon herself to remind everyone about those allegations that have been following Bryan for years like a trail of pool water dripping off the corner of a wet towel.

Jessica Chastain is no stranger to speaking out, and she had a lot to say after Harvey Weinstein’s alleged gross behavior was exposed. Last Friday, Jessica decided to keep the conversation about sexual harassment and abuse going by tweeting a link to a story about the many allegations made against Bryan Singer.

During an interview with The Daily Beast to promote her latest movie, Molly’s Game, Jessica was asked to elaborate on that tweet. Especially since it might be seen as a tweet that could potentially get her in trouble. Jessica will appear in 2018’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Bryan Singer is a producer on X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Jessica told The Daily Beast that she made a decision early on in her career that she wouldn’t work with people who she felt abused their position. So what about signing on to a movie produced by Bryan Singer? Jessica explains it’s because she had no contact with him.

“I actually chose to do X-Men because I’m working with Simon Kinberg, who’s also a first-time filmmaker who I met on The Martian, and is an incredible writer and producer…all of my dealings were with Simon and Hutch [Parker, another producer], who were on set.”

Does this mean Bryan Singer never even went to set while they were filming? That’s one way to make sure there’s nobody left who likes you. Getting a producer credit and producer paycheck without even showing up to work seems like the sort of thing guaranteed to piss off everyone who had to show up for a 6am call time.

Regardless, Jessica obviously isn’t afraid of making things awkward at any future cast and crew get togethers, and she certainly doesn’t care if pissing off Bryan Singer costs her any future jobs.

“I do not feel beholden to anything. I’m going to speak my mind about any injustice that I see. I’m not afraid of anything in terms of that. And I think the greatest myth that an industry can create is to make people feel like they’re easily replaceable. I’m not going to allow that into my life.”

I doubt Jessica would get blacklisted from talking about those allegations. Besides, it’s not like Bryan Singer has some kind of dark-sided hypnotic mind control that could prevent her from getting acting work. And even if he did, as if that’s enough to get people to forget about those allegations. “Okay Bryan, I won’t hire Jessica Chastain [shakes self out of hypnosis] …wait, this is totally because she brought up those allegations of you being a creep, isn’t it?

  1. targetconfusion

Well, Bryan, shit seems to hit the fan for you a little bit. Though he’s working hard to fight it. Evan Rachel Wood’s tweet about him has been deleted and one of the accuser’s twitter account has been suspended.

Money is the only true way to go in Hollywood. If you can afford it you can merrily pedo your way through your career.

  2. To all intents and purposes ‘That 70’s Show’ was a total fuckfest of a production with Masterson and Kutcher [and that other one] having competitions who could fuck the most guest stars. This has been alluded to on numerous occasions. The thing to note in these rape cases is that all Masterson’s victims were scientologists and he knew that they would never go to the police as anything like this is dealt with internally – and that is well documented by the thousands of people who left the cult. What kind of guy installs 17 cameras inside his house… what kind of guy officially calls himself DJ Donkey Punch [formally DJ Donkey Pizzle]? You only have to look up the meaning of “Donkey Punch” and read the victims reports to realise that he DID rape these girls. He’s a truly vile human being and deserves to go to prison.

  3. Matthew Crawford.

  4. No, his name is Matthew Crawford.

  5. LOL I don’t think anyone here knows what a “Twink” is

  6. Just a nitpick, but I’m pretty sure Singer wouldn’t be putting up any money.

The studio would. She isn’t being paid by Singer.

  7. People with the most tenuous connection to Weinstein were being made to make public statements denouncing him….. I guess she finally got on Google.

  8. ThenTheLordMadeYolettie

The fuck? You can just feel the excitement and love and joy…..

  9. ThenTheLordMadeYolettie

I never knew/heard that about sheen before. Just thought he was into hookers and such.

  10. Sophie's Choice

Rooney Mara was the original choice for her role, b/c she’s close with Megan Ellision billionaire’s daughter. Funny story but Megan dropped/lobbied for Blake Lively to be off or else she wouldn’t produce it lol. Steven Soderberg’s film and instead wanted Rooney.

  11. Sophie's Choice

Wasn’t that Rose McGowan who said “Women of Hollywood your silence is demeaning or something”. Rose tweeted that before more and more woman started coming out.

  12. ThenTheLordMadeYolettie

It seems odd/sexist/misogynistic/planted that the reason Rapist Danny is protected by Ashton is because Mila kunis is such a slutty nasty drug using whore with all this supposed footage of her fucking all these people and doing drugs off naked bodies (lol to that waste of good drugs) because she did so at Rapist Dannys house???? Id believe it a bit more if it was footage of Ashton. This seems like an added attempt to smear another woman. Idk……

  13. PinkIsTheBlondeofColors

I was just surprised that he of all the pedos has a child. He seems like such a hard partying weirdo that I’m surprised he even wanted a child.

  14. Nikitainthesection

I heard, indeed, that articles are been deleted about him left and right on the internet.

  15. and iron-clad NDAs it seems.

  16. Everything I heard about those white boys-only parties makes it sound like the twinks are willing guests, barely over 18yo, and competing for Brian’s favors. Sort of like the gay equivalent of a party at the Playboy grotto. It will be interesting to see what revelations will come out about what really goes on there.

  17. there was quite a brouhaha as soon as I uploaded the issue… I hope to have an updated version soon… here are two separate bits that I can show that best describe how Masterson has control over Kutcher

  18. media lush Thank you for posting this here. I went and read and read what was being revealed, sometime before 8pm eastern time. Then, after Leah Remini’s latest Aftermath show ended at 11, I went back to continue reading, and the whole thing has been removed.

There were so many interconnections being shown in what was written. Particularly interesting info (possibly) about how come Ashton Kutcher hasn’t broken off his association with Donkey Punch so far. There was much, much more, too.

Well, it’s no surprise that somebody or some “org” seems to have been compelled to squash it. I’ll bite my tongue and not speculate about Marty Singer and several other probable suspects. Masterson’s case awaits the Los Angeles County D.A.’s decision to do the right thing and get moving.

  19. LoopyGorilla

i’ve been going on and on about bryan singer for years and all the twink pool parties he hosts.

  20. Littlesthobo

I was super gutted when I found out about Hawking. Hawking was the reason I got into science. I follow his work. Just balls disappointed.

“And so, despite a decade of alleged serial sexual abuse and rape of an
unknowable number of girls, some as many as 100 times according to court
filings, the notoriously secretive financier was offered a deal. For
the alleged systematic victimization of young girls—most of whom were
plucked by Epstein’s assistants from Palm Beach’s poorer neighborhoods
and groomed to adore or acquiesce to him—he was slapped with a 2008
    conviction on a single charge of soliciting a minor;
and sentenced to an 18-month stay in a Palm Beach county jail—of which
he served only 13 months and was allowed to leave six days out of every
week for “work release.” He also agreed to a few dozen confidential,
out-of-court payoffs to his accusers, the most recent of which was
    finalized in 2011.”

  22. Sally Brite

And our dearest Donnie was involved too

  23. Or George Clooney, or Woody Allen, or Polanski–nor will she call out the women willing to work with that rapist just for a gold statue.
